Why Mittsy

Other planners give you recipes. Mittsy gives you the receipt.

A week of dinners is only useful if you can afford it, buy it in one trip and actually cook it on a Tuesday. Mittsy plans with your budget and your store in the room, so the list is priced before you leave the house and the 6 pm question is already answered.

Plan My Week

Tell Mittsy your budget, your diet, who’s eating and what’s already in the pantry. One tap later you have seven real dinners — each with minutes, servings and an estimated cost — that fit the week you actually have.

A Grocery List That Knows the Price

The list writes itself from the plan, sorted by aisle, with an estimated price on every line and a budget bar that turns green when you’re under. Tick things off in shopping mode, one-handed, cart in the other.

Built Around Your Store

Pick the supermarket you actually shop at — Kroger, Walmart, Aldi, Costco, Tesco and more. Pack sizes, prices and swaps follow the store, so “1 × 8.8 oz punnet” is what’s on the shelf, not a guess.

Fridge Chef

Point your camera at the fridge. Mittsy names what it sees — kale, lemons, half a pack of carrots — you fix anything it missed, and it hands you recipes that use them up before they turn.

A Cookbook That Cooks With You

Save favourites, filter by air fryer, batch or speedy, scale servings and watch the price scale with them. Nutrition per serving on every recipe, and a step-by-step cook mode that keeps the screen awake.

Pantry First, Waste Less

Tick what’s already at home and the list only counts what you need to buy. Batch nights are planned so tonight’s dinner becomes tomorrow’s leftovers on purpose, not by accident.

A look inside

Plan. Shop. Cook. Repeat.

Four tabs, no clutter. The plan for the week, the list for the store, the chef for whatever is in the fridge, and the cookbook you build as you go.

How it works

Three steps. One grocery trip. Seven dinners.

01

Tell Mittsy about your kitchen

Household size, budget, diet and allergies, the appliances you own, and the store you shop at. Two minutes, once.

02

Tap “Plan my week”

Seven weeknight-real dinners appear with a cost on each. Swap any night, lock the ones you love, rebuild the rest.

03

Shop the list, cook the plan

Take the aisle-sorted list to the store, tick things off, then follow the step-by-step cook mode at home.

Money, in plain sight

Know the bill before you leave the house.

Every recipe carries a price for the servings you chose. Every list line carries a price for the pack you’ll actually buy. The budget bar adds it up as you tick, subtracts what’s already in the pantry, and turns green when you’re under — so the number at the till is never a surprise.

  • Cost per serving on every recipe, scaled with the servings.
  • Weekly budget you set once; under-budget in green, over in apricot, never in red.
  • Pantry items come off the bill automatically — “~$2.00 off from pantry”.

Frequently asked

Everything about planning the week.

What is Mittsy?

Mittsy is a meal planner, recipe keeper and grocery list app for iOS and Android. It plans a week of dinners around your budget, your diet, your household and the supermarket you shop at, then writes an aisle-sorted grocery list with an estimated price on every item. It also turns a photo of your fridge into recipes, keeps your cookbook and pantry, and walks you through cooking step by step.

How does “Plan my week” decide what I eat?

It starts from what you told it in onboarding — budget per week, household size, diet and allergies, dislikes, the appliances you own and how many minutes you have on a weeknight — plus what you’ve marked as already in the pantry. From that it writes seven dinners with no two nights in a row sharing the same protein or cuisine, prices every ingredient at your store, and shows the week’s total against your budget. Don’t like a night? Swap it or rebuild the week.

Are the grocery prices real?

They are estimates for the store you picked, based on typical shelf prices and pack sizes, so the “~” in front of every number is deliberate. They are accurate enough to keep a week under budget and to compare two dinners, not a receipt. Prices refresh over time and you can always edit a line.

Which stores does Mittsy support?

In the US: Kroger, Walmart, Target, Aldi, Costco, Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, Safeway and more. Mittsy ships in 16 storefronts, so UK, Canadian, Australian and European chains are there too. The country you pick in onboarding sets your stores, currency, units and allergen list, and you can shop across two stores in one week.

Is Mittsy free?

Yes. Downloading Mittsy is free, and the cookbook, weekly planner, grocery list, pantry and up to two stores are yours to use without paying. Mittsy Pro is a subscription that unlocks the AI week plan, the estimated prices on your list, Fridge Chef and nutrition per meal. It comes with a free trial, so you can see a full priced week before paying anything.

Does Mittsy work outside the US?

Yes. The app is available in 38 languages with local stores, currencies and metric or imperial units for 16 countries including the UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Mexico, Brazil, the Netherlands, Sweden, Japan, Korea and Turkey.

What happens to my fridge photos?

A fridge photo is used once to recognise ingredients and is not stored on your device or ours afterwards. Your recipes, plans, lists and pantry live on your phone. Mittsy doesn’t sell data and doesn’t show ads.
